Police Department

The Wilder Police Department is a state accredited agency for the past ten years consisting of seven full-time and five part-time officers.  Our organization services approximately 3000 residents over a fifteen square mile area.  Primarily an industry based community we pride ourselves on putting our emphasis on a community orientation approach to law enforcement.  Utilizing ten marked patrol cars, one marked sports utility vehicle, and a state-of-the-art radar enforcement trailer, our officers conduct high visibility patrols of our streets, neighborhoods, and highways.

The Wilder Police Department has been awarded grant monies from the state government in Driving Under the Influence (DUI) through the Kentucky Governor's Highway Safety Grant Program and money from the Justice Assistance Grant (JAG), which funds our in-car computing program; allowing us immediate access to wanted people, vehicle and driver information, and E-Crash, an electronic accident reporting program. These capabilities combine to allow our officers to keep mobile when they would otherwise be removed from patrol operations.

Lastly, we encourage our citizens not to hesitate to call upon us day or night, participate in our annual police academy and our Kidsfest Program, and to ride along with our patrol officers to better understand our operations.

On behalf of the police department, thank you for stopping in.

Respectfully,

Chief Anthony J. Rouse
